B series short pitch precision roller chain is the most commonly used type of chain drive, which is used to transmit mechanical power on many domestic, industrial, and agricultural machinery, including conveyors, wire drawing and pipe drawing machines, printing machines, automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles.

The C-type roller chain has straight plates instead of figure 8-shaped side plates. The chain weighs slightly more than standard roller chains and slightly increases fatigue, strength, and working life. They are mainly used in conveyor applications where a flat side plate is preferable.  Straight plate type ISO British standard and ANSI standard chains are both available.
